Montford Point Marines in Smyrna

Had the pleasure welcoming two of the original Montford Point Marine’s to Smyrna this weekend – Ambassador Theodore Britton Jr. and Jame Pack, both 96 years old. Montford Point Marines are the first African American’s to serve in the Marines, starting in 1942, 80 years ago, seeing combat in WWII, Korea and Vietnam wars.
