Construction of the new Smyrna First Baptist Church

Hello Ward 6 Residents!

You may have noticed construction of the new Smyrna First Baptist Church began this week.

Smyrna First Baptist Church has been part of our community since 1884. We’re pleased the church is investing in its future and remaining an active part of our community.

The church’s willingness to make its downtown property available allows the City to explore new ways to strengthen and revitalize downtown.

As construction gets underway, expect increased activity, including vehicles, equipment, and temporary noise. Initial phase is underway, followed by grading and infrastructure installation. Foundation work likely begin before year-end, with project completion expected in early 2028.

We appreciate your patience. Questions? Contact Rusty Martin, Community Development, at 678-631-5354, rgmartin@smyrnaga.gov or me at 404-313-8504, tgould@smyrnaga.gov

Sincerely,

Tim Gould
